Satisfying his vision for a “skin and bone” architecture, the floor plan of 900/910 echoes the elegance of Mies’ simple tastes.

The Esplanade Apartments were constructed in 1955 of concrete, glass, aluminum, and steel. Both buildings are 29 floors high, with a combined total of 524 units. The 900 building houses 371 units, (14 per floor), and the 910 building houses 153 units (6 units per floor). They were converted in 1979 from apartments to condominiums and today approximately 85% of the property is owner-occupied. The original floor plans shown here are from the Association’s archives.
